Quality in a photo is incomplete without an interesting and appealing photography backdrop. It also makes a visible difference between professional pictures and normal daily life snapshots. Outdoor photo shoots may not always be reliable and having a backdrop to emulate an outdoor surrounding can really come in handy.
So here are 4 great ways to add fun to your backdrops!
1. Use a throw, fabric, or rug. What a lovely alternative to the basic background. What’s behind and underneath the baby is important, and you can make it your entire background! Spread it entirely on the foreground and clip it behind to create a soothing environment. Lay a quietly sleeping baby on it, and snap! You’ve got it. The perfect shot, the perfect texture, nearly every time.

2. Draping: Did you notice the photography background behind the sweet baby? Look at the way it is hanging, the curved way is harmoniously surrounding the baby, which makes the entire picture look so elegant and pleasing. As photographers we often try to make sure our backgrounds fall smoothly and without wrinkles, but by draping it you can save yourself the hassle, and get an effortlessly classic shot!

3. Add a banner. This one is easy. Whether it’s for a birthday, a princess, or for a holiday shoot. This simple touch is wonderful.
4. Use Bold Colors. Neutrals are easy but bright colors are brave and when used correctly, they are incredible. This bubble gum pink background really is unlike most others you’ll find out there. So why not whip out a backdrop you’ve been afraid to use, and coordinate it with some of your boldest items, like this pink rug.
